About the Candidate
Meet Raghav
A Brampton story β built on hard work, community, and a genuine belief that local government can do better.
His Story
Rooted in Brampton, Ready to Serve
Raghav Dhir arrived in Brampton as a young professional over fifteen years ago, drawn by the city's energy, diversity, and potential. What was supposed to be a temporary stop became home β he built a career here, started a family here, and planted roots so deep he can't imagine calling anywhere else home.
Growing up in a middle-class household, Raghav learned early the value of community support. His parents, both immigrants who built their own small business, instilled in him a deep respect for hard work and a responsibility to give back to the communities that shaped him. Those lessons never left.
Today, Raghav runs a small consulting firm helping Brampton businesses navigate municipal processes β and in that role, he has seen firsthand how the city's bureaucratic hurdles, transit gaps, and housing pressures affect real people every day. He doesn't just understand these issues theoretically; he's sat across the table from the shop owner who waited eighteen months for a permit, the senior who missed a medical appointment because a bus didn't show, and the young family that was priced out of the neighbourhood they grew up in.
Running for Ward 2 and Ward 6 is the natural next step β a chance to take that lived understanding directly into chambers where decisions are made, and to fight for solutions that put residents first.
His Journey
A Life in Service
Raised with Purpose
Raghav grew up watching his parents build their small business from the ground up, learning the value of community, perseverance, and showing up for your neighbours long before it was politically advantageous to do so.
Foundation in Business & Urban Planning
Raghav holds a degree in Business Administration with a minor in Urban Planning, a combination that gives him a rare lens β understanding both the economic drivers of city growth and the social infrastructure that makes communities liveable.
Small Business Owner, Community Connector
After a decade working in municipal consulting, Raghav founded his own firm. Through hundreds of client engagements, he became the go-to person for Brampton entrepreneurs trying to navigate city hall β giving him an inside view of where the system works and where it fails residents.
Volunteer, Mentor, Advocate
Coach for the Ward 2 Youth Soccer League for five years. Board member of the Brampton Small Business Association. Regular volunteer at the Peel Living community support programs. Raghav has always shown up β with no cameras and no political agenda β because it's simply the right thing to do.
Because Ward 2 & 6 Deserve Better
After years of watching decisions get made without the voices of residents at the table, Raghav decided he could no longer ask someone else to step up. Ward 2 and Ward 6 are growing, diverse, and underserved. That's not a criticism β it's a call to action. And Raghav is answering it.
What Drives Him
Raghav's Core Values
π§ Integrity First
Raghav will always tell you what he believes, not what's politically convenient. An independent candidate isn't just a label β it's a promise to serve residents over parties.
π Real Accountability
Every vote logged, every spending decision explained, quarterly town halls β Raghav treats transparency as a baseline expectation, not a bonus.
π Inclusive Brampton
Ward 2 and 6 are among the most diverse communities in Canada. That diversity is a strength. Every policy decision should reflect and support every corner of that community.
π Evidence-Based Decisions
Good intentions aren't enough. Raghav commits to consulting residents, reviewing data, and working with city staff to make practical, evidence-based decisions.
